Plastic materials for the production of tower packings have recently been used in many application fields which formerly were restricted to metals and ceramic materials.The application fields of the individual plastic materials are determined by chemical resistance,temperature stability and mechanical strength.

Polypropylene is the most current thermoplastic in the production of tower packings.Due to its good resistance to chemicals at temperatures up to more than 100℃,polypropylene is superior to polyethylene in most fields.

Type used Operation temperature range

Polypropylene LTHA : up to+110℃

Polypropylene glass-fiber reinforced : up to+140℃

Polypropylene alkaliproof : up to+110℃

Several special types on request Compress strength : >30Mpa

Cold-resistant : to-10℃（depending on the type）

Resistant to : acids like hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid bases lik caustic soda solution and caustic potash salt sollutions li sodium chloride,ammonium chloride alcohols,ketones like methanol,ethanol,acetone org.acids like formic acid,acetic acid.

Not resistant to : strong oxidizing agents like oleum halogens like fluorine,chlorine,bromine halogenated hydrocarbons aromatic hydrocarbons.

As to the resistance,the respective concentrations and temperatures to be observed.
