Honeycomb carriers, also known as bird’s‑nest catalyst supports, are well‑defined catalyst supports featuring a three‑dimensional, interconnected pore structure. They are cylindrical in shape and contain parallel, through‑going channels; the channel cross‑sections are typically triangular. Primarily supplied as semi‑finished products to catalyst manufacturers, they are used to impregnate active catalytic components, imparting the catalyst with the characteristic physical properties of a honeycomb‑like bird’s‑nest structure.
